Beth Israel Orthodox Synagogue of Destin's mission is to serve the Jewish
community of the city and the greater Emerald Coast area. Beth Israel was
founded in February of 2007 by a core group of Israelis living in the Destin
area to provide a consistent Jewish experience for their families, many with
young children.
Beth Israel conducts its prayer services in the Sephardic orthodox tradition led
primarily by lay leadership and welcomes participation from all Jewish heritages
and levels of religious commitment.
The Synagogue provides community Holiday celebrations throughout the year
and occasionally invites visiting rabbis and scholars to enrich its congregants.
Since Destin is a popular resort area, the Synagogue encourages attendance
by vacationers and part time residents.
Weekly Shabbat services are held every Friday evening at sunset; Saturday
morning at 9:00 AM; Saturday afternoon and evening, followed by Havdalah.
